As an Employment Coordinator, that's just what you'll do.

Successful Employment Coordinators are dedicated to assisting job seekers and employers by delivering state-of-the-art employment-related services to ensure a better job match and improve customer satisfaction. This position will provide a deeper focus on gig work. This is a 7 month project position. 

ABOUT THE JOB

The major responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Create and develop specific tools to assist job seekers on better understanding the pros and cons of being a gig worker or working in a non-traditional job.
  • Coordinate with various organizations within the community to bring awareness to gig and non-traditional employment opportunities and resources.
  • Develop and maintain a list of available resources for gig and non-traditional workers on the www.worksourcespokane.com website and train WorkSource Spokane staff on the various resources available.
  • Develop and facilitate workshops or connect job seekers to resources to improve the capabilities of gig or non-traditional workers. Workshops could potentially include: time management, financial planning, and customer service skills.
  • Coordinate with the Talent Solutions Team to ensure local gig and non-traditional jobs are posted on the Immediate Job Postings page of www.worksourcespokane.com
  • Provide subject matter expertise and training to WorkSource Spokane System staff on assisting gig and non-traditional job seekers find employment.
  • Maintains knowledge and basic understanding of current labor market. Actively seeks opportunities to partner with the Talent Solutions Team to identify ways that to serve the larger community.
  • Maintains basic understanding of all operations of other services provided within the One-Stop Center to assist in supporting employers and customers in employment transitions.
  • Promote, deliver and improve workshops. Offers workshops through in person and virtual options.

  • Aptitude for research, implementation and evaluation of new assessments and projects.
  • Embrace technology, good working knowledge of office machine technology, ability to learn new software.
  • Ability to work remotely and engage customers from various virtual and tele platforms.

EXPERIENCE/POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Required
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience designing instructional materials and curriculum
  • Demonstrated experience as an energetic and effective facilitator, assessment coordinator, and/or in adult continuing education.
  • Skilled in the use of: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, LinkedIn, and assessment applications, as appropriate.
  • Must be able to work in a culturally diverse and fast-paced environment and demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity and cultural competency.
Preferred
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in:  Education, Human Resources, Social Work, Workforce Development, Psychology, or Sociology. 
  • Certified Workforce Development Professional (CWDP).
  • Demonstrated success in a performance-based system and one-year of experience working in curriculum development, evaluation, assessment, accreditation, program review, employment and training, and/or testing in workforce development.
  • Knowledge of online learning technologies and trends.
